The release of Lupillo Rivera’s book Tragos Amargos has stirred new family controversies involving his niece, Chiquis Rivera.
In its pages, the singer recounts the alleged intimate relationship between Chiquis and Elena Jiménez, one of Jenni Rivera’s closest friends.
The revelation has caused a stir because, according to Lupillo, it was the “Diva de la Banda” herself who confided in him about what she had discovered.
He claims his sister told him details of a relationship that left her hurt and with a sense of betrayal.
Lupillo Rivera’s Account
In the book, Lupillo Rivera writes that Jenni told him how Elena confessed what had happened with Chiquis.
“She confessed that she and her daughter had been together once, and then again when Esteban had been watching them,” the text reads.

The musician adds that his sister mentioned a video that showed only “the entrance and exit of a closet,” linked to her then-husband, Esteban Loaiza.
According to the account, Jenni felt deeply betrayed because Elena was her close friend and had shared projects with her.
Chiquis Denied the Allegations
Lupillo also reveals that after hearing his sister’s version, he decided to speak directly with Chiquis.
He claims his niece denied everything attributed to her and did so “through tears.”
Lupillo says he advised her to face the situation directly, though he admits family tensions escalated after the episode.
“This episode was like an earthquake in the family, which reshuffled and reorganized the alliances,” he writes in Tragos Amargos.
The Jeweler’s Close Ties with Jenni Rivera
Jewelry entrepreneur Elena Jiménez was very close to Jenni, even becoming the godmother at her wedding with Esteban Loaiza.
She was also the one who sold Loaiza the engagement ring he used to propose to the singer.
According to biographer Laura Lucio, Jenni allegedly discovered “compromising photos” of Chiquis on Elena’s phone.
That discovery, as mentioned, marked a definitive rupture of trust between the two women.

Rumors and Denials Surrounding the Singer
Speculation about the alleged relationship grew over time, to the point that rumors even suggested a threesome with Esteban Loaiza.
Chiquis Rivera has consistently denied these claims, insisting that nothing inappropriate ever happened with the businesswoman.
Despite the accusations, the relationship between them was not completely broken, and they continued to appear together publicly.
In fact, Elena Jiménez attended Chiquis’s wedding to Lorenzo Méndez, which reignited comments about their closeness, according to Univisión.
